TOURNAMENT REGULATIONS

1. This nine-round, individual tournament is open to all players.
2. FIDE (International Chess Federation) rules and regulations will apply.
3. The tournament will be FIDE-rated.
4. A computerised Swiss pairing program will be used to generate the pairings.
5. The time control is 90 minutes for the entire game, plus a 30-second increment per move.
6. All mobile telephones and PDAs are required to be switched off during playing sessions.

ACCOMMODATION

1. All players are required to budget for their own board and lodging, as well as transportation needs.
2. GMs will be given free hotel accommodation, inclusive of breakfast, on a twin-sharing basis.
3. Limited rooms at the Evergreen Laurel Hotel (a five-star hotel) are available at a special rate of RM185 nett. Participants are required to make reservations directly with the hotel.

Please be properly attired during play. Dress code:
1. No slippers
